Shabnam Roozbahaneh

I am Shabnam Roozbahaneh, with over 25 years of professional experience in theatrical and cinematic makeup design and execution. Throughout these years, I have designed and executed makeup for more than 70 theatrical and cinematic productions, collaborating with renowned directors and prominent theater groups both in Iran and internationally. Many of the performances, for which I was responsible for makeup design have been widely acclaimed by art enthusiasts and audiences.

In addition to my practical work, I have been an instructor in cinematic and theatrical makeup for many years, training numerous students who are now successfully working on professional film and theater projects.

Furthermore, I have been interviewed by several reputable cultural and artistic websites, where I have shared my experiences, innovative makeup techniques, and the challenges of this profession. These conversations have provided an opportunity to exchange insights and experiences with those passionate about this field.

In the field of short films, I have designed makeup for several productions, including:

  • That Man
  • The Devil’s Eye
  • Three Months and Ten Days, and more.

Additionally, I have had the opportunity to collaborate with international theater groups, designing makeup for Dreams of a Brown Sofa and Meeting at Westbahnhof, both performed in Austria.

Beyond makeup artistry, I am also active in visual arts. I have created a collection of high-relief collage paintings centered on the architecture of traditional Iranian houses, which have been exhibited in various prestigious galleries, including the Sa’dabad Palace in Tehran.
